Viva Miches by Wyndham is slated to open on Dec. 11 on the Dominican Republic’s northeast coast. The first phase of the all-inclusive, family-friendly resort will include 538 accommodations, with six room categories that range from Comfort Rooms, which yield a resort view and one king or two queen beds, to the Splash Oceanfront Rooms, which come with private plunge pools.

The resort will include five dining options: In addition to main buffet restaurant, Atlantis, Mediterranean, Oriental Fusion and Latin Fusion. Other amenities include an oceanfront pool featuring a swim-up bar, snack bars and shops. The resort, on El Limon beach, will include kids and teens clubs; activities like snorkeling, yoga, trapeze, tennis, pickleball and kayaking; and the Viva Vibe program, which offers a rotation of activities, themed parties and theater performances, none which repeat for at least 14 days.

“The entertainment we offer separates us from the rest of the competition,” said Erika Sordo, Viva Resorts by Wyndham’s corporate director of marketing and public relations. “No one comes to close to entertainment like Viva.”

The resort will also offer off-site excursions, such as boat tours of the channels and caves of Los Haitises National Park, whale-watching and tours of Montana Redonda.

A planned second phase would increase the overall room count to 750. Sordo said it remains to be seen whether the addition would serve as an adult-only or a family-friendly one.

Based in the Dominican Republic, Viva Resorts by Wyndham owns and operates eight resorts, all of which are all-inclusive, in Mexico and the Dominican Republic and on Grand Bahama Island. Viva Miches by Wyndham is offering discounted, preopening rates for bookings until July 31 for stays from its opening until Dec. 23.
