CAMPO Y CACAO
Twice a week we organize an outing that lasts all morning. We take you inland aboard our open-sided truck, so you can discover how rolling and lush the rural landscape of the El Seibo region is.
We stop first at Doña Teresa’s ranch and then continue on to a cocoa plantation. We guarantee it will be fascinating to walk among the trees and see just how large the pods are. You’ll learn facts and interesting details about the natural side of cocoa and every stage of its preparation. On the way back to the hotel, there will be time to stop by the village of Miches.
CHOCOLATE PASIÓN
The Spa at Viva Miches by Wyndham — open daily from 8:00 to 19:00 — has created a treatment
ideal for dry skin.
The first step of Chocolate Pasión is a gentle exfoliation, using a delicate cream containing small cocoa granules. In the second step, a chocolate mask is applied to the entire body (except the face); the mask is covered with a thermal cloth and left on for 10 minutes to absorb. The third step involves applying a cocoa cream (Natural Benefit line), which is worked in through massage. This ritual is truly deeply moisturizing and leaves the skin supple.
TASTING AT CHOCO PUNTO
Choco Punto is the in-house workshop at Viva Miches by Wyndham, where a sweet, aromatic fragrance lingers—something that brings to mind the film Chocolat (remember? Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp).
Here you can taste different types of chocolate, with cocoa percentages ranging from 55% to 85%. One variety is sweetened with allulose, an ingredient suitable for diabetics and those with celiac disease. Nibs are the tasty cocoa bits you can take home to add to yogurt.
The Choco Punto team prepares chocolate tea and offers a tasting: the cocoa fruit peel is crumbled and left to infuse. It’s an antioxidant, helps with joint pain and… it tastes delicious!
