Hier versammeln sich zwischen Mitte Januar und Ende M\u00e4rz Tausende von Buckelwalen aus dem Nordatlantik zur Paarungs- und Brutzeit im milden Klima der Halbinsel Saman\u00e1.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vivaresortsbywyndham.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/RepubblicaDominicana_Ballena_Jorobada_Samana_3-1024x678.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21944\" width=\"408\" height=\"270\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Zum Schutz dieser Tiere, die seit 1966 als gesch\u00fctzte Art gelten, richtete die Regierung der Dominikanischen Republik 1986 offiziell das Schutzgebiet f\u00fcr Meeress\u00e4uger ein, das sich n\u00f6rdlich der Bucht von Saman\u00e1 bis zu den flachen Gew\u00e4ssern der Banco de la Plata y de la Navidad (ein Gebiet, das als Silver Bank bekannt ist) erstreckt. Es handelt sich um eines der gr\u00f6\u00dften Meeresschutzgebiete in der gesamten Karibik.
